Drumming Group
We are piloting a brand new Drumming Group at PAC which starts in November 2024. This group is an alternative option to 1:1 therapy for those aged 7-12 years old who are presenting with mild to moderate behavioural issues, social anxiety or suspected ASD/ADHD.
In the Drumming Group we will use hand drums like djembes, congas, and bongos, and other small percussion instruments. The focus will be on musical skills and playing together as a group. Through group music making we will aim to build confidence, develop social skills, learn and practice self-regulation, and express ourselves. We will listen to different drumming styles from around the world and create our own music that represents us.
We are accepting referrals direct from Schools & other professionals who are working with children & young people for this group. For more details please see our Drumming Group referral form.
This pilot group is NOT considered appropriate for those with known complex trauma, serious mental health issues, current or historic suicidal ideation or self harming. Please see the referral details for 1:1 therapy for these cases.
